Rob Anderson was born in Canada and lived in both Canada and Finland during his youth. He moved to the USA to attend college. Rob graduated with a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science. He is an American born-abroad and has spent his entire professional career in the United States.
Rob has 23 years of broad actuarial and risk management experience in pricing, reserving, predictive modeling, data management, capital modeling, and reinsurance. He is currently the chief risk officer, chief actuary, and director at Palms Insurance Company in Juno Beach, Florida.
Rob also volunteers on the International Membership Services Task Force of the CAS. He was also appointed in 2021 by the CAS to serve as the US representative on the International Actuarial Association banking forum.
Rob has been writing and speaking on insurer asset-side risk since 2019. He has spoken at nine Actuarial events in the US, Caribbean, and Australia; and one additional event in the UK at a European Economic conference (EAEPE 2023).
